Ashutosh Sharma (66 off 31) played a match-winning knock, first building a crucial partnership with Tristan Stubbs (34 off 22) and later with Vipraj Nigram (39 off 15), steering Delhi Capitals to an improbable victory. His explosive innings featured five boundaries and four towering sixes, turning the game in DC’s favor.

For Lucknow Super Giants, star Indian pacer Shardul Thakur, who joined as a replacement player on Sunday, made an instant impact by claiming two wickets. Manimaran Siddharth also impressed, taking two scalps while conceding 39 runs in his four-over spell.

Earlier, Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram gave Delhi Capitals a solid start, adding 46 runs for the first wicket in just 4.4 overs. However, IPL debutant Vipraj Nigram provided the breakthrough by dismissing South African T20I skipper Markram (15 off 13). Following his departure, Marsh partnered with Nicholas Pooran, forging a blistering 87-run stand for the second wicket.

The duo unleashed an aggressive assault, pushing LSG past the 100-run mark in just 8.2 overs. Marsh dazzled with a 36-ball 72, smashing six fours and six sixes before Mukesh Kumar dismissed him in the 12th over. However, his departure didn’t slow down Pooran, who continued his relentless attack on the DC bowlers.

Former West Indies T20I captain Nicholas Pooran went berserk in the 13th over, smashing Tristan Stubbs for four sixes and a boundary, amassing 28 runs in a single over.

Lucknow Super Giants fans had high expectations from Rishabh Pant, but the most expensive player in IPL history endured a forgettable outing. Despite facing six deliveries, he failed to score and was caught near the boundary by Faf du Plessis off Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling. Things worsened for LSG when, in the very next over, Mitchell Starc sent Pooran back to the pavilion. The explosive left-hander played a fiery knock of 75 from just 30 balls, hitting six fours and seven sixes.

Pant and Pooran’s quick dismissals turned the game in DC’s favor, as their bowlers staged a brilliant comeback. In the final five overs, they conceded only 39 runs while taking four crucial wickets. Kuldeep Yadav delivered a stellar spell, finishing with figures of 2/20 in four overs, while Mitchell Starc was the standout pacer, claiming 3/42.
